Biography
Pietro has been a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow since 2024, following his M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" with highest honors (110 Cum Laude). His research focuses on health economics, applied econometrics, and machine learning applications to social inequalities. He is currently involved in multiple European research projects including STAGE (Stay Healthy through Ageing in Europe), where he develops Hidden Markov Models to analyze multimorbidity trajectories, and OBELISK, focusing on childhood obesity prevention through growth-based trajectory methods. Pietro also contributes to the Exposome project, developing exposure-based classifications linking environmental data to health outcomes across 12 European countries. He serves as a Teaching Assistant in Microeconomics at University of Rome Tor Vergata since 2023. His technical expertise spans R, Python, STATA, and machine learning frameworks including PyTorch and TensorFlow. Before his current role, Pietro completed his B.Sc. in Economics at the University of Florence, specializing in computational approaches to economic modeling.Events & Presentations
