Economic evaluation of Internet Economy

A joint research project: CEIS and Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri - Dipartimento per la Digitalizzazione e Innovazione Tecnologica

The collaboration between the Department and the CEIS aims to carry out a study to identify, analyze and evaluate the economic effects (direct and indirect) of the Internet economy.
The Internet economy is a new phenomenon of economic development, from the point of view of technological progress, and from the diversification and expansion of the products of post-industrial society. The combination of product innovation with a business modelbased on the user productive contribution makes it possible economies of scale (network) never experienced in the past, an exponential expansion of products and market pportunities in a global context of growth, with the prospect of epochal changes in patterns of consumption and technology.
The research project aims to address the problem of analysis of the formation of value and valuation of the Internet Economy in an original way the quantification of the activity and growth of the, using a dynamic model of the economy based on a set of quantitative
tools and an innovative version of the Social Accounting Matrix (SAM).
